Before Atlantic Yards
Full Project Coming Soon
Atlantic Yards is a development project on the border of Prospect Heights and Fort Greene in Brooklyn. It will consist of a basketball stadium and about a dozen residential towers. Through the abuse of eminent domain it has forced businesses and residents to move out. It also happens to be across the street from my building. Before Atlantic Yards documents the streets within the footprint of the Atlantic Yards site before they are destroyed. Referencing Ed Rucha's (Every Building on) The Sunset Strip panoramic photos of the streets are contained within an accordion-fold book.

2012/The End Is Near
6 color screen print on American Masters 15" x 22" paper (image size 17" x 11"). Edition of 12 signed and numbered.
This print came out of interest in the theories surrounding the year 2012. Some theories predict that the winter solstice of 2012 will be the end of the world because it coincides with the end of the Mayan calender. Others predict that this date will bring about a huge shift in consciousness around the world. I tried to combine these two ideas by using an optical shifting pattern in the background and by blending the numbers 2012 and the words The End Is Near together. Numbers inspired by Herb Lubalin, lettering inspired by Bill Hyde.
